The British-German Outlook Group is a yearly exchange organised by SWP together with our partner Chatham House and kindly funded by the German Foreign Office. The Outlook Group brings together officials and leading expert of both countries for an exchange on the future of Europe, British-German relations and joint foreign policy interests.
SWP Berlin and CEPS are joining forces to set up a High-Level Group on bolstering EU democracy to develop and disseminate policy recommendations to strengthen EU democracy, to be published within a dedicated report in September 2023.
The Daimler U.S. European Forum on Global Issues is hosted by the Brookings Institution (Washington), the Centre for European Reform (London) and the SWP, with the support of Daimler AG. Its objective is to conduct a regular, confidential dialogue on international politics involving leaders and think tanks from the United States and the European Union.
The European Policy Institutes Network participates in the debate about Europe’s future by publishing expert analyses, and works to improve mutual understanding through discussion of national discourses. Its members are think tanks and policy institutes from almost all the EU member-states and accession candidates.
The Forum is a closed event for selected experts from think tanks, academia, journalists and government institutions from Germany and Italy, held alternately in Berlin and Rome since 2017. It aims to exchange views on the most important topics for the current political and economic agenda of the European Union.
The German-Spanish Dialogue is conducted by SWP and its partner, the Barcelona Centre for International Affairs (CIDOB), with support from the Friedrich Ebert Foundation. Currently interest centres on the challenges of European integration and the European and foreign policies of Spain and Germany.
The aim of the project is to provide up-to-date information, data and analyses on cyber attacks in order to raise awareness of cyber security threats.
The Covid-19 pandemic was and continues to be an endurance test for global and European health governance. Health governance refers to all institutionalised forms of social and political coordination aimed at developing and implementing binding rules and non-binding standards on health issues, or providing collective health goods for the benefit of society.
Removing CO2 from the atmosphere (Carbon Dioxide Removal, CDR) is essential to achieving greenhouse gas neutrality in Germany, Europe and globally. A wide range of terrestrial, geological, material-based and marine CDR approaches have been proposed, and the scientific understanding of each method varies greatly.
UPTAKE aims to facilitate the sustainable upscaling of carbon dioxide removal (CDR) methods by developing a set of robust strategies through technical, theoretical, and practical analysis accompanied by interactive dialogue within a CDR stakeholder forum.
The research project accompanies the German government’s “climate foreign policy” strategy from its inception to its implementation.
