According to estimates, the so-called Russian shadow fleet consists of several hundred or even over a thousand tankers – often older ones – which Russia uses to try to circumvent Western sanctions. Following several incidents of alleged sabotage and espionage in recent years, there has been increased discussion about the threat posed by this fleet. “Ethics and Armed Forces” spoke with a military analyst about this topic.
