As a non-public specialised library with a focus on foreign and security policy and international relations, the Digital Library provides all SWP working units with information resources. It supports SWP researchers in publishing their research results in freely accessible form.
As a non-public specialised library with a focus on foreign and security policy and international relations, the Digital Library provides all SWP working units with academic literature, database and press access, as well as newsletters. Together with the Digital Services and Open Science Unit, it facilitates publishing in freely accessible form and ensures that SWP's academic output is catalogued, retrievable, and archived for the long term.
To this end, the SWP has adopted an Open Science Guideline.
The SWP's holdings can be searched in the publicly accessible database World Affairs Online (WAO), which contains more than one million titles on international relations and area studies and is produced by the German Information Network for International Relations and Area Studies.
The Digital Library team forms part of the information infrastructure.
