Berlin Conference on Asian Security (BCAS)

The annual »Berlin Conference on Asian Security« facilitates an exchange of information and expertise on Asia-Pacific security questions between Asian, American and European scholars and politicians.


German-Japanese Dialogue

The SWP and the Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA) in Tokyo stage German-Japanese Dialogues on foreign and security policy matters approximately every 18 months. The venue alternates between Berlin and Tokyo.


Taiwan 2nd Track

Annual workshops on the Taiwan question and relations between China and the European Union are organized jointly by SWP and the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS).


Diplomacy in the 21st Century (compl.)

The project “Diplomacy in the 21st Century“ examines what diplomacy in the 21st century might look like. It wants to arrive at practical conclusions, academically underpinned, though theoretically eclectic, of where, and in which concrete ways, modern diplomacy needs to change in order to be recognized as a modern legitimate, efficient and effective instrument of successful foreign policy.
