Military Operations by the German Armed Forces in Flux: Prospects for the Future and Lessons Learned (compl.)

The project “Military Operations by the German Armed Forces in Flux: Prospects for the Future and Lessons Learned” analyzes past as well as current foreign military interventions by the German Armed Forces. It focuses on the different modalities of engagement: missions under NATO-command, multidimensional UN Missions, Coalitions of the Willing and EU Missions. Within the context of the ongoing discourse about “new responsibilities” and the capabilities of the German Armed Forces, the project makes use of various analytical dimensions to investigate the objectives and impacts of completed and ongoing operations by the German Armed Forces. The project’s aim is to draw conclusions from past engagements and to make policy recommendations for German decision-makers regarding future engagements by the German Armed Forces.
